MAW PLUGINS
Licensing and Download Data Notice
Mondays at Work S.L. · mawplugins.com
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This notice explains what personal data we process when a MAW Plugins product with a License Key is activated, updated or downloaded, and why. It complements our Privacy Policy and Section 11 of the License Agreement.
1. Who is responsible
Mondays at Work S.L. (“MAW Plugins”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller. Our identification and contact details are set out in the Privacy Policy. For anything related to this notice you can write to support@mawplugins.com.
2. What we process
When a MAW Plugins product with a License Key is installed and used, the plugin contacts our licensing server (api.mawplugins.com) to activate and validate the license and to check for updates. For this we process:
- your License Key;
- the URL of the website where the product is installed;
- the WordPress and product versions;
- the technical download identifier linked to your License Key (see Section 3);
- the standard connection data of any web request, such as the IP address and the date and time of the request.
We also keep a record of the downloads of the Software made with your License Key and of the license validation events.
3. Download identifier
Each copy of the Software that you download with a License Key may carry a unique technical identifier (a “watermark”) linked to that License Key. It does not contain your name or email address and cannot be read without information held only by us. Its purpose is to let us identify the License Key concerned if a copy of the Software is found published without authorisation. See Section 4A of the License Agreement.
4. Why we process it and on what legal basis
- To provide the licensed service you bought (activation, updates, support). This is necessary to perform our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To protect our software and the licensing service from unauthorised sharing and misuse, and to keep the service secure. This is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have balanced it against your rights: we process only the data described above and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
5. Who receives it
We share this data only with the providers that host our infrastructure, who act as processors on our behalf under data processing terms:
- Kinsta, which hosts mawplugins.com;
- DigitalOcean, which hosts our licensing server (api.mawplugins.com), where License Keys, download records and validation events are stored. Our licensing server is located in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union).
Our other service providers (for example payments and email) are described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell this data. We may disclose it to the competent authorities, or to a hosting provider or platform when we report an infringement, where necessary to protect our legal rights.
6. International transfers
Our licensing server and our website hosting are located in the European Union. Where any other provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
We keep license and download records for as long as your license is active and, afterwards, for up to five (5) years to deal with possible claims, or longer where a law requires it. Server logs of validation requests are kept for up to twelve (12) months for security and troubleshooting.
8. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection by writing to support@mawplugins.com. You may object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interest; we will stop unless we show compelling legitimate grounds, for example to establish or defend legal claims. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es).
9. Changes
If we change how we process this data, we will update this page and its date.
